fancying a dip?
Having heard about this movie over the last couple of years I have now finally seen it. In 2004, two guys, 'fed up' with their corporate jobs decided to change their lives, at least for some time....they bought (great scene when a sponsordeal goes sour...) two Segway's and went coast (Seattle) to coast (Boston) through the USA at 10mph.The trip is documented in 10mph; what a great movie! Inspiring story, beautiful shots of the country and a great insight into a USA we don't see that much of...So, leave now and view 10mph! Register at OurStage and view the movie through them (the makers get 1$ per downloaded movie) or buy the dvd. PS: Not convinced? See the trailer first....
Out of sheer jealousy of the constant great quality of their work I had hoped not having to write about another one of their pieces for a long, long time...but, having just been on holiday with 3 people by car I see how very useful this publication could have been..even while driving a different brand...:

It is not the first time Paul Veroude took apart a car (see this '87 Toyota Starlet in TENT Rotterdam (2004)), but it must be the most expensive/highest profile one... Honda F1 now at display at the London Motorshow (official site/better pictures at autoblog)
Yesterdaymorning at 6:44. Beautiful views of Waverveen in the first rays of sun; a very good reason to take a detour more often..
More VW advertising goodness....Not related to the 'Fast'-campaign, but targeting the GTI Mk V at a younger audience. Unpimp your auto! Starring Peter Stormare (nihilist #1 in Big Lebowkis; 'We'll cut off your johnson') as a frantic Teutonic engineer. Commercial One Commercial Two Commercial Three update 150506: helga's ('definitely sucking yes') myspace profile --- A bit related: VW started podcasting at the Detroit Auto Show. By now you have probably all seen some parts of the (Crispin, Porter and Bogusky) VW campaign advertising the introduction of the GTI Mk V. IMO capturing the true essence of speed-enthousiasts, without making it a 'lad' thing; opening your windows in a tunnel to hear the sound of your engine, taking the car to bring in your delivery-food etc... It started in February with an online teaser (not online anymore) asking the public what the 'Fast' inside them looks like. Based on that outcome (probably not, but it is nice to think we had some influence) the rest of the campaign was based. Project Fast: this is the central website. Beautifully executed, with very cool customizable joyrides. Creating the fast: mockumentary about creating the Fast. Hilarious scenes in laboratory-setting. I presume this is taken from the DVD in the Fast-box new (and previous?) GTI Owners receive. TV-ads; introducing the fast: Hair Streamlined Officer Take out by the way: get your own 'Fast' here...
