At the 7th of October Veronique and I got married. After 12 years of going steady, time felt ripe for the final step. We had a great day at Fort Vechten, an old fort of the 'Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie' (wikipedia entry, dutch only). Beautiful weather, all our friends together, great food and a nice DJ made the day complete. Take a look at the photo album for an impression of the day: My own behind the scene pictures (more official photo's coming soon)
At the end of the hottest October ever (with temperatures this weekend of over 22 degrees Celcius) I bought myself some new snowboardgear... First of: a new pair of boots: Burton SL8. Making me feel like Mr T. in T. & T. (anybody remembers him putting his foot down on the lockerbench to tie his laces? Well....that kind of impression my new SL8's will make... ). These are probably the stiffest and most leathery boots around (and believe me....I have tried them allmost all: Burton Driver X? Too loose, Salomon F22? Too much heellift....) Fancy lacing system, extra rigid inserts and no heellift at all (and did I mention...leather?) Can't wait to plant them in some fresh powder!! And, next to that; a new pair of pants. Also from Burton; Ronin Cargo; with more pocket than I could ever need! And more waterresistant than a goldfish.. Well, bring on the snow...! PS: When spending that much many you probably want to have good service, a wide range of goods and good coffee? Give Rob and Pauluz at CellBlock in Utrecht a visit!
